Medicine Bow was home to the wold's largest wind turibine constructed in 1982. It's been in continous use since the twon's founding in 1868. Originally named Wyoming, then Two Rivers to avoid confusion, the town was initially located at the confluence of the Little and Big Laramie Rivers, about a mile west of here. THe town was relocated in 1900 when the UP tracks were realigned. The town had its plat recorded in 1934.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://bypassedbyi80.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/lh_ac_tr.jpg</image:loc><image:title>LH_AC_TR</image:title><image:caption>This little tree has fascinated people since the Union Pacific Railroad first laid tracks through southeastern Wyoming. It's said that the railroaders would "give the tree a drink" from water buckets as they would pass by here. After the railroad was diverted to the south, the old railbed became a wagon road that was adopted for the Lincoln Highway in 1913. The pole on the left side of the frame is a replica of the original poles that lined the highway.
